Gordon was born prematurely, and a Cerebral Palsy severely affected his muscle control: he had never been able to relax his legs or his fingers on his own. He also had difficulty in pronouncing words clearly.

Before the treatment

Gordon hoped to mitigate his severe muscle tension and gain some control of his movement. Being able to use his hands would surely have been a major improvement in his quality of life, since it would have allowed him to operate a computer and consequently communicate with other people.

His treatment (umbilical cord stem cells and nerve growth factor injections with rehabilitation therapy) started on November 28, 2006.

After the treatment

A remarkable point: Gordon grew several inches during treatment, due to his increased muscle relaxation and his improved eating habits. Thus far, several months after the treatment he has shown significant improvements whereby he can spread his fingers, hold objects more easily, lift his arms and even relax his legs on his own. He has also gained a better control of his head and neck. Cognitive habilities improved, too: he talks much more than before, using full sentences. Gordon continuously assimilates new words into his vocabulary and responds more quickly.
