Stan was born by caesarean section two months prior to the expected due date. He underwent a successful heart surgery but got an infection. This resulted in a brain injury, whose consequences were stroke, damage from hypoxia and cysts. Diagnosis on july 26th said: “Brain Injury - Extensive periventricular leukomalacia affecting the right hemisphere with a porencephalic cyst.”
The treatment on Stan began on may 6th, 2006.
Before the treatment His general physical state was good, no medicines were needed. Stan could not crawl, but tried to. He had hypertonia (spasticity) on his tendons. His reaction time was a bit slow, and he did not understand many words. He couldn’t speak at all.
After the treatment
Stan’s reaction time became much faster. He could comprehend more words and what his parents said to him. When someone came into his room, he was much more aware that somebody was there. While trying to crawl, he could make new movements that he did not do before. The spasticity was reduced, the greater amount of improvement being in his arms.
