Susan Monica Glenn

Susan Monica Glenn United Kingdom - 41 years old

She suffered from a Progressive Multiple Sclerosis diagnosed in 1995.

Before the treatment

Very bad shakes affected her walking and hand coordination. Susan had to walk with a walking stick, often needing to lean on available objects or surfaces around her. She had poor balance, and as a result she found it difficult to turn.

She could hold things in her hands but could not write properly: any written message had to be dictated to her children – not to mention double vision and bowels/bladder control, typical in MS patients.

Susan hoped to see her tremors reduced, so that she could walk without a walking stick or the need for something to lean on. She hoped that treatment would allow her to write legibly and speak better.

Treatment: umbilical cord stem cells and nerve growth factor injections with rehabilitation therapy. It began on February 25, 2007.

After the treatment

Susan saw the first improvements signals on the sixth day of her treatment: balance, vision and bowel/bladder control all improved in a very short time. By the end of the treatment, she felt there had been several significant improvements.

Her shaking was much less of a problem than before. Her bladder control had improved, so she no longer had to worry about waiting to use the toilet. She could write slowly but legibly, and so no longer needed to rely on the help of her children. Her legs were stronger and walking was easier. Susan no longer needed to lean on things, and could even walk without the use of a stick, although for short stretches.
